Hey Folks

Just a little update of what's going on here.
Everything is going as good as could be expected. Sharon has adapted well to the asian/hawaiian culture mix here. She has discovered new favorites that she had never seen before. Bubble drinks are a mixture of fresh fruit, ice, heavy cream, and protein powder with a strange addition of tapioca balls which sit on the bottom and are sucked up through a really wide straw. In our time here the never-ending search for a good chili rellano has come up nil. So, in short we are hoping that y'all come see us sometime (soon) and when you come please bring a nice chili rellano for Sharon and a Varsity Chili Dog for Zach.

Wouldn't you know it, as soon as we leave something cool happens, a hundred yards from our house in watkinsville some pilot thinks he can get from one airport to another with just 5 dollars in gas.

Party Success!

Yeah! Zach and I officially welcomed guests into our new apartment by throwing a lab party which I think went off rather well. We had a great spread of food, good tv and friendly conversation. Thanks to all who brought something to eat and/or drink. The table was overloaded with watermelon, cantalope, Greek Rice Salad (Anna I need the recipie!), green salad, guava juice, pepsi with lime (Thanks to Jen for bringing the Pepsi for the non-Coke drinkers and making salad), lemonade, (nice variety of drinks) a chinese dish with broccoli (Thanks Mingxiao!), a nice Merlot(Good choice by Emilie and Julian) and Rolling Rock beer(Thanks Guangyi! Really great to meet the family), grilled portobello mushrooms, and all kinds of toppings for hamburgers (lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese). Thanks to Katie for making some really good brownies and bringing French Vanilla icecream to top them with for dessert. Katie and Brad liked our sweet tea and didn't seem to suffer any ill effects from drinking a glass or two. Thanks to Zach for cooking hamburgers, hotdogs and oysters inside without the aid of a grill (Love you honey). We'll definitely have to have another party but next time we'll make reservations for the grill outside. And everyone will have to bring their swimsuits!

Zach and I went to the Aloha Flea Market at the Arizona Memorial Stadium to see if we could find some cheap but good furniture. We didn't find any furniture but we did find this really cute mushroom chinese lantern.

Zach bought these two plants at the local Star Market Garden Center to help start our lanai garden. We also bought a Goliath tomato plant at the Marukai Wholesale Mart. Hopefully we'll have some nice homegrown tomatoes before it gets cool.
